Many Christians are not save. In Colombia, Christians are regularly the target of drugmaffia, guerilla’s and paramilitary groups. They are making the lives of many Christians very difficult. Making the gospel known is extremely dangerous and risky.

In the video, a few stories worth mentioning were explained. Stories in which pastors were opposed, intimidated and even murdered for their belief. The children of these pastors live in great fear.

Open Doors, a non-profit organization supporting Christians who are persecuted and oppressed for their faith, has offerend these children in conflict zones a safe home. These children are able to study and build up a future at these children's homes.

The story of David: His father was giving a sermon one day, while his sister and him were playing. The guerilla came and took his father, forbid him to never preach again. No one dared to visit his church after the 'arrest'. He had to build up a new life elsewhere, but did not stop spreading God's word. "A church foundation is going to places where nobody knows the gospel". He shares his experiences with others, and informs them that their problems can be solved.

David went to the children's home, which his dad said to be 'a blessing from God for him and his sister'.
His plan for his future? - He wants to start his own church. He wants to help his father and his family.

The story of Sebastian: he used to be a member of the FARC terrorist guerilla movement, and persecuted the church in Colombia.. He was an enemy of God, of the churces, and anyone who decided to proclaim the gospel. However, something the man who Sebastian was supposed to kill said, touched him: "Young man, Lord Jesus Christ has a call for you. And even if you do not know and you do not understand, you will be a preacher. And later, even if you kill me, the Christ who I worship will continue to live". With intentions to kill this man, he left with questions in his mind and a strange feeling in his heart... He changed from a persecutor into a follower of Jesus Christ.

The story of Jairo: his father, a pastor, was in danger. The people in his village plotted an attack to kill him. "The people who were not Christians did not like him and wanted to hurt him a lot. For me, that was difficult". Can you imagine... He was afraid, but his trust in the Lord did not vanish. He believed that he would survive this. And he did.
His prayer? - For God to protect him. For them to be brave. And to go to many countries with God's word.

These are stories of just a few whom have struggled for their believe, or for sharing God's word. Open Doors has provided the children a safe place. However, these children do not get to see their parents often. Once a year, if lucky. "Usually, one parent comes, because they don't have enough money for both to come".
A lot has been done, and the violent groups are still out there. "I hold on to my faith" says Andres, a pastor. "I have to do more because there is so much to do. There is still so much to do". But he, David, Sebastian and Jairo know that God protects them and will guide them.
